The Sauvie Island Inline Series 2004
The spirit of the Sauvie Island Inline Series (S.I.I.S.) is
to bring inline skaters together in a fun event for ALL skaters. The
event is meant to foster friendship and teamwork between inline
skaters. The coordinators hope by stressing fun they can create new ties between skaters from the entire NW area. The S.I.I.S. will have a total of
five event days. There will be two major aspects of the S.I.I.S., the
Team challenge and the Individual Challenge.

The Team Challenge

Before each event all skaters names will be put in a hat. Names will be pulled two at a time, each pair representing a team. You and your teammate must choose your race strategy. All standard rules of inline racing apply: there is no linking or pushing allowed between team members.

Please be honest. At the end of the race you add together your placements. The team with the lowest combined placement number wins the team challenge. In the case of a tie the team with the first finisher wins. Each member of a winning team will also earn three points towards their score in the Individual Challenge.

The Individual Challenge

Each skater can also work towards being the Series winner. At each event you have a chance to earn points by your placement. First place will earn 10 points, 2nd place 9 etc. all the way to 10th place.

There will be separate categories for men and women in the Individual Challenge, so the first woman to come in will also earn 10 points. At the end of the Series, the man and woman with the highest scores win the series.
